How it works
TousePass is where Columbia and Barnard students buy and sell tickets to campus parties. Sign in with your school Google account, pick a seller, and your ticket shows up the moment you pay.
Buying a ticket
- 1
Sign in with Google
Use your columbia.edu or barnard.edu account. You can browse without signing in, but you need it to buy.
- 2
Pick a seller
Every seller is listed by name with their price, cheapest first. Green means they've sold before with no bad tickets, red means at least one of their tickets was found bad, and new sellers are marked “New seller”.
- 3
Pay
Tapping Buy holds the ticket for you for 5 minutes while you pay. You pay the ticket price plus Stripe's fees. TousePass doesn't add a fee.
- 4
Show your QR code at the door
Your ticket appears in My tickets as soon as payment goes through. Your receipt includes a calendar invite. Tap Add to calendar in that email to save the event to your Google Calendar.
Good to know before you buy
- Your ticket is a copy of the seller's Posh QR code. It isn't an official Posh transfer, so the name that comes up when it's scanned is the original buyer's, not yours.
- The event's door rules apply to you: age, ID, dress code, capacity and arrival times. Being turned away for door rules or a name mismatch isn't refunded.
- Canceled, postponed or changed events aren't refunded.
- New sales stop 4 hours after an event starts.
- Support answers by email. There's no live help at the door.
Selling a ticket
- 1
Set up once
Sign in with your school Google account, connect payouts through Stripe, save a card for bad-ticket recovery, and accept the seller terms.
- 2
Pick the event
Find it on TousePass, or paste its Posh link. We pull the name, date, address, flyer and door rules from the Posh page.
- 3
Upload your ticket
Upload the Posh PDF or a screenshot. If your order had 2 or more tickets, upload the PDF and choose one individual ticket. Each listing is one ticket.
- 4
Set your price
Anywhere from $5 to $1,000. You can change it or remove the listing until it sells, except during the 5 minutes a buyer is paying.
- 5
Get paid
You're paid 24 hours after the event ends, minus Stripe's payout charges. If a claim is open, you're paid once it's decided.
Your responsibilities
- Only list a ticket you bought, that's still valid, and that you haven't shared or listed anywhere else. Don't use it after listing.
- Buyers see your full name on your listings.
- If a review finds you sold a bad ticket, the buyer gets a full refund and you cover TousePass's loss, including Stripe's fees. It comes out of that payout first, then future payouts, then your saved card.
If a ticket doesn't scan
Covered
- The scanner says the ticket was already used
- The scanner says the ticket is invalid or not found
- TousePass removes the event as fake. You're refunded automatically, no claim needed
Not covered
- Turned away for a name mismatch
- Turned away for age, ID, dress code, capacity or arriving late
- Canceled, postponed or changed events
- File a claimIn My tickets, tap Report a problem. Upload a photo or video of the scanner's error. You can file from the start of the event until 12 hours after it ends.
- The seller respondsThe seller has 12 hours to give their side. Not responding counts against them.
- TousePass reviewsWe look at both sides, the seller's record and our own checks, then email you both the decision.
- The outcomeIf the seller is at fault, you get back everything you paid. If the evidence doesn't show who caused it, the claim isn't refunded.
Fees
TousePass doesn't charge a fee. Stripe charges for handling the payment and paying the seller, and those charges are split like this.
| Stripe charge | Rate | Who pays |
|---|---|---|
| Card processing | 2.9% + 30¢ | Buyer, at checkout |
| Fraud screening (Radar) | 5¢ per payment | Buyer, at checkout |
| Seller payout | 0.25% + 25¢ | Buyer, at checkout |
| Funds routing | 0.25% of the payout | Seller, from the payout |
| Monthly account fee | $2, first payout each month | Seller, from the payout |
| International card | +1.5%, if it applies | Seller, from the payout |
| Currency conversion | +1%, if it applies | Seller, from the payout |
| Manually entered card | +0.5%, if it applies | Seller, from the payout |
| Bank dispute (chargeback) | $15, if a buyer disputes the charge | Seller |
Example: a $42 ticket costs the buyer $43.99. If it's the seller's first payout that month, they receive $39.89.
Questions
Who can use TousePass?
Anyone with a columbia.edu or barnard.edu Google account, including alumni who still have one. Anyone can browse without signing in.
Is TousePass part of Posh or the party organizers?
No. TousePass is independent. It isn't affiliated with Posh, the organizers, or Columbia or Barnard.
Can I buy more than one ticket?
Yes, one at a time. Each checkout is one ticket, so buying for friends means checking out again.
What happens to the QR code a seller uploads?
It's stored encrypted and hidden until someone buys the ticket. The image is deleted once the claim window closes.
