This is a draft. It hasn't been reviewed by a lawyer yet and may change before TousePass opens.

1. About TousePass

TousePass is a marketplace run by Gapless Labs where students resell tickets to campus events. TousePass is independent. It isn't affiliated with or endorsed by Posh, event organizers, Columbia University or Barnard College.

Tickets sold on TousePass are copies of the seller's Posh QR code. TousePass doesn't transfer ownership in Posh, and the organizer decides who gets in.

2. Who can use it

Anyone can browse. To buy or sell, you must sign in with a Google account on columbia.edu or barnard.edu, including an alumni account that still works. You're responsible for activity on your account.

3. Buying

  • Each checkout buys one ticket. When you tap Buy, the ticket is held for you for 5 minutes. If you don't pay in time, it goes back on sale.
  • Tickets can be bought until 4 hours after the event starts. After that, listings stay up but can't be bought.
  • You pay the seller's price plus Stripe's card processing fee (2.9% + 30¢, plus 5¢ fraud screening) and seller payout fee (0.25% + 25¢). TousePass doesn't charge a fee.
  • Your ticket appears in My tickets once payment is confirmed. Keep it private. Anyone who scans it first may get in.
  • The name that comes up when your ticket is scanned is the original buyer's. The organizer's door rules apply to you, including age, ID, dress code, capacity and arrival time.

4. Refunds and claims

You can get a full refund, including the fees you paid, only when the scanner reports your ticket as already used or as invalid or not found, and TousePass's review finds the seller at fault.

  • File a claim from My tickets between the start of the event and 12 hours after it ends. You must include a photo or video of the scan result.
  • The seller has 12 hours to respond. TousePass then reviews both sides and emails both of you the decision.
  • If the evidence doesn't show that the seller caused the problem, the claim isn't refunded.
  • If TousePass removes an event as fake, everyone who bought a ticket to it is refunded automatically, including fees. No claim is needed.
  • There are no refunds for canceled, postponed or changed events, for being turned away under door rules or for a name mismatch, or for any other reason not listed here. If an event is canceled and Posh refunds the original buyer, the seller keeps that refund.

5. Selling

  • Before your first listing you must connect payouts through Stripe, save a card with Stripe, and accept these terms.
  • You may only list a ticket you bought that's still valid. You confirm you haven't listed, sold or shared its QR code anywhere else, and you won't use or share it after listing.
  • Each listing is one ticket. For a Posh order with 2 or more tickets, upload the PDF and list individual tickets only. The order's main QR code can't be listed.
  • Prices must be between $5 and $1,000. You can change the price or remove a listing until it sells, except while a buyer is paying.
  • Your full name and your sales record are shown to buyers on your listings.

6. Seller payouts and fees

  • You're paid 24 hours after the event ends. If a claim is open, your payout is held until it's decided.
  • Stripe's remaining charges come out of your payout: 0.25% funds routing on each sale, a $2 monthly account fee on your first payout each month, any extra card fee the buyer's card triggers (international +1.5%, currency conversion +1%, manually entered +0.5%), and $15 if a buyer disputes the charge with their bank.
  • We email your school address when your ticket sells and when a claim is filed.

7. Bad tickets and recovery

If TousePass's review finds you sold a bad ticket, or TousePass removes an event you sold tickets to as fake, the buyer is refunded and you're responsible for TousePass's full loss on that sale. That includes the refund, the Stripe fees Stripe doesn't return, and any dispute costs, but never more than the actual loss. You authorize TousePass to recover it in this order: from that sale's payout, then from your future payouts, then by charging the card you saved. The ticket counts as a bad ticket on your public record. Not responding to a claim within 12 hours counts against you.

8. Reports and account review

Anyone signed in can report an event or listing. TousePass reviews reports and may remove listings or stop a seller from listing. Buyers who file more than 3 claims are flagged to TousePass for review.

9. Your information

  • We get your name and school email from Google sign-in.
  • Stripe holds payment cards and bank details. TousePass doesn't store them.
  • Uploaded QR codes are encrypted, hidden until purchase, and deleted once the claim window and any open claim are closed. We keep a fingerprint of each code to block duplicates, plus a record of the sale.
